Hi, I’m Nick! I’m a Senior Associate Software Developer at SAS and recently graduated with First-Class Honors in M.Eng. Computer Science from the University of Manchester. My thesis focused on OS performance optimization, where I explored how to enhance the efficiency of network-based applications across diverse architectures.

My programming journey began around age 8, starting with retro video games and the Lego Mindstorms kit, which sparked a fascination for all things code. I’ve since gained experience through internships at Softwire, UK, and WebHotelier | primalRES, Greece, where I worked on a variety of software projects. At Softwire, I collaborated in an agile team to develop a pro bono web application, learning to adapt quickly to client feedback. My role at WebHotelier introduced me to high-demand data systems, giving me a first-hand look at how well-tuned data systems can drive decision-making and improve performance.

I enjoy working on open-source projects and exploring DevOps practices, secure hosting, and cloud technologies in my homelab. My interest in fintech keeps me experimenting with modular programming and data integration for real-time analysis. Outside of work, you’ll often find me on photo walks, capturing candid urban scenes, cooking, hiking — that is, when the weather allows it, or hunting for hidden music gems, proudly landing in the top 1% on Spotify for most obscure tastes.

Growing up in a multicultural environment — raised in Greece with a Cypriot father and Serbian mother, with the family commuting between Athens and Dubai — has also shaped my perspective. I’m fluent in Greek, Serbian, and English.
